The event takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
UFC 250: Nunes vs. Spencer was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that took place on June 6, 2020 at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In the main event, women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes (19-4 MMA, 12-1 UFC) puts her 145-pound title on the line against challenger Felicia Spencer (8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC). In the co-feature, Raphael Assuncao (27-7 MMA, 11-4 UFC) takes on former bantamweight champ Cody Garbrandt (11-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC).

Round 1 – Dunham with a left hand to start, but Burns with a kick to the body to answer. Burns slips to the floor in a scramble, but Dunham doesn’t follow. Burns back to the feet, and he slips around to the back and brings the action to the floor. Quick figure four around the body, and Burns is looking for the choke. Dunham defending, but Burns gets the arm on the chin and squeezes tight, forcing the tap. Wow. Impressive work.

Round 1 – Clark wastes no time shooting inside, but Menifield digs under as he backs to the cage. The two woek in the clinch against the fence. Knees exchanged. Referee Mark Smith calls for action as they grind in the clinch. Menifield finally pulls free and lands a few punches. Clark looks hurt. He drops and looks again for the takedown. Menifield again gets his back to the fence. He switches off and pulls away. Punches land. Menifield thinks takedown, but his corner tells him to let it go. Knees inside for Menifield as they work in the clinch. Clark’s left eye clearly bothering him. He’s squinting. Clark’s corner begging for him to dig deep. Menifield in control from the clinch. He’s on the outside and lands a few punches. He’s content to work in tight for now. He backs away with a minute remaining. Clark starts throwing bombs and then thinks takedown again. Menifield again defends with no issue and switches to the outside. Round ends there. MMA Junkie gives it to Menifield, 10-9.
Round 2 – Menifield walks forward and looks to throw. Clark happy to swing back, and Menifield changes levels. Nothing there, so he backs away. Knees inside for Menifield. Clark with a high kick. Good exchanges to start. Menifield again moves to the clinch, and knees are exchanged. Clark throws a few punches to get away. Menifield keeps him against the fence. Menifield controlling the center, but Clark is having some success in moments. Menifield presses to the cage, and Clark works to try and spin away. Menifield turns him back to the fence. Punches exchanged inside. Menifield is controlling the positioning, but Clark is staying busier as he works from the fence. Clark again tries to turn, but Menifield controls the positioning with less than a minute remaining. Menifield is the one on the outside, but Clark is the one swinging. Round ends, and MMA Junkie gives it to Clark, 10-9.
Round 3 – Menifield to the center, and Clark immediately thinks takedown. Again, Menifield is able to stuff it with no issue. He presses the action to the fence. Stalemate, so Menifield backs away and looks to throw. He lands a nice right hand. Clark wants a takedown, but again it’s not there. Menifield sprawls well. Clark resets and throws a few big punches, but Menifield covering well. Menifield presses to the cage, and now he wants the takedown. He’s in deep, but Clark stays upright and switches off the cage. Clark gets his hands wrapped around the body and is finally able to get the fight to the floor. He wraps his arm around the neck and looks to take the back. Menifield turning and gets to a seated position. He gets his back to the cage. Two minutes left. Menifield works to his feet, even as Clark controls the neck. Menifield switches off the fence. Clark spins and gets the outside. Menifield switches again. Less than a minute, and they break away. Clark shoots from range, but it’s not there. Menifield defends and turns outside. Menifield’s corner calling for action. He does land one nice right hand, but Clark breaks free and flurries. They trade at the end. MMA Junkie gives the round to Clark, 10-9, giving him the fight 29-28,

Round 1 – Perez with an early low kick. Punches traded. Perez again to the legs. Again, but Formiga lands a right hand up top. Perez backs away and recovers. He’s moving well. Perez very active. Formiga content to stand in the pockets and answer back with punches. Perez really pressing the action and rattling off combinations. Head movement and punches in bunches for Perez. Formiga finding moments to answer, but he’s on the back foot and not looking for takedowns. Perez lands another big low kick, and Formiga falls to the canvas. Perez doesn’t follow. Once back up, Perez lands the low kick again, and Formiga falls to the canvas, wincing in pain. That’s enough for referee Keith Peterson, and the fight is waved off. Formiga in clear pain.

Round 1 – Pitolo gets the center and throws a few punches before Byrd changes levels and looks for the takedown. Pitolo defends against the fence. Battle for position there. Pitolo moves to the outside and gets the takedown, instead. Byrd with half-guard underneath. They’re close to the fence, but Pitolo pulls his opponent’s back away. Byrd sits up and hits a switch, and now he’s on top. Left arm threaded briefly for Byrd as he pushes down on his opponent’s head. He thinks briefly about a guillotine before looking to slip to the back. Pitolo using the fence to prevent that. Pitolo able to spring up, and he wraps his hands around his opponent before lifting and slamming him to the floor. Byrd turns to his knees. He stands, and now he’s in on a single. Byrd now lifts and slams Pitolo to the canvas. He’s in side control. Pitolo tying things up underneath. Byrd with knee on belly. Pitolo tries to sit up, but Byrd pushes him down and finishes on top, and MMA Junkie gives him the back-and-forth round.
Round 2 – Byrd comes out swinging. Pitolo retreating and looking to set up a big shot. He lands a nice left hand. Pitolo starting to put together combinations. Byrd trying to cover, but it’s clear he’s hurt. Pitolo grabs hold and throws him to the floor and starts unloading punches. Byrd covering. He’s hurt but trying to recover Pitolo keeps punching away, and this fight is over.

Kelleher with a low kick, then he goes up high. Stamann moving well, but Kelleher keeping pace. Both men active with punches. Kelleher using kicks, as well, but Stamann countering very well. Kelleher switching stances and moving well, but Stamann is really keeping the pressure high. Kelleher with a kick, and Stamann trips him to the canvas. Stamann doesn’t follow, and Kelleher crawls back to his feet. Nice left hand from Stamann as his opponent stands. Stamann just seems to be a step ahead right now. Kelleher moves inside, but Stamann always there to rattle off punches when his opponent is close. Couple of nice low kicks land for Kelleher. Stamann still moving well. They finish on the feet. Round 2 – Kelleher takes the center and is pressing the action early. Stamann still moving well and countering. Kelleher drops down and wants a single. Stamann sprawls well and defends, and Kelleher has to move away. Kelleher teasing kicks but not letting them go. Stamann content to work on the back foot for now, but he’s scoring when he throws. Kelleher with a big right hand over the top. He’s pressing now. Stamann still firing combinations, and he’s landing. Kelleher’s nose busted up a bit. They clinch in the center, but Stamann lets go in favor of punches. Stamann changes levels. Kelleher tries to grab the neck as he falls, but it’s not there. He settles for guard as he falls. Little more than a minute, and Stamann looks up to check the clock. He’s comfortable on top. Kelleher breaks guard and creates some space, scrambling up to his feet. Stamann presses him to the fence. Kelleher switches off at the end, but Stamann tags him with a side kick. Round ends there, and MMA Junkie gives it to Stamann, 10-9.
Round 3 – Kelleher again busy to start. Stamann grabs one of his low kicks and trips him to the floor. Stamann doesn’t follow, and Kelleher works his way to the feet. Stamann still moving well. Kelleher kicks him in the body. Punches traded. Kelleher trying to make something happen. He’s moving forward and throwing. He misses a spinning backfist. Stamann holding the center. Kelleher with a big flurry, but Stamann covers well and then slips away. Kelleher keeps pressing and lands a big right hand. Stamann counters with a few stiff jabs, but Kelleher is loading up on his big punches. Big hooks coming from Kelleher. He throws a kick, and Stamann catches it but can’t get the action to the floor. Kelleher holding the center and throwing big punches. Stamann answering, but it’s Kelleher pressing the pace. Stamann thinks takedown, but it’s not there. Less than a minute. Kelleher pressing with strikes. He looks for a takedown, but Stamann defends against the cage. Kelleher gets him off-balance and to the floor. Stamann tries to grab the neck, but Kelleher pops free. Caceres slips away and lands a massive uppercut. Hooper hits the canvas but gets back to his feet. Hooper’s face busted up, and Caceres tags with a high kick. Caceres moving very well and looks incredibly confident. Hooper lands a big left hand. He seems to be recovered. He tries to move inside again, but Caceres slips away. Hooper finally gets in tight and slips around to the back. Caceres trying to use the cage to peel things off. Hooper has the left leg grapevined, but Caceres is able to pulls free and turn inside, slipping away to reset. Another nice uppercut from Caceres. High kick for Caceres, and a right hand lands, too. Hooper still walking forward, but Caceres is getting the best of the exchanges. He’s creating angles and lands a nice right hand. Hooper not backing down. Straight punches from Caceres. He locks the body and looks for the takedown. Hooper rolls and looks for a leg, but the round is over. MMA Junkie gives it to Caceres, 10-9.
Round 2 – Hooper again willing to press and engage, but it’s Caceres who slips and moves and finds the better strikes. Big uppercuts score, but Hooper walks through them and gets to the clinch. He tries to jump to the back but Caceres is able to peel him off and move away. Hooper keeps the pursuit high and gets back to the clinch. Caceres patient and slip away, moving back to the center. Hooper slips to the floor on a high kick, but Caceres doesn’t follow. Hooper back up, and Caceres lands a low kick. Hooper tough, but he’s getting tagged. He moved forward and grabs Caceres, immediately dropping to guard. Hooper able to extract himself and move back to the feet. Hooper pushes forward and again grans hold and drops to guard. Caceres immediately out and kicks the legs a bit. Hooper grabs the ankles and is able to trip Caceres to the floor, but he can’t capitalize. Hooper gets back to the feet and unleashes punches again. Round ends there, and MMA Junkie gives it to Caceres, 10-9.
Round 3 – Hooper still pressing forward, and he needs to make something happen. Caceres still slipping and moving well. He’s just a step ahead on the feet. Caceres able to get inside on the body. He again grapevines the left leg and tries to sneak around to the back, but Caceres defends well and is able to slip away. Hooper lands to the cup, and Caceres takes a very brief break. He’s moving well on the restart. Caceres still punching well. Hooper drops guard again, but Caceres pulls free. Nice left hand from Hooper on the feet, but Caceres right there to answer. Hooper drops down once again, but he can’t get Caceres on his way. Caceres kicks the legs a little, and Hooper is forced to stand. Hooper’s chin is solid, but he’s definitely getting touched up on the feet. Less than a minute, and Hooper drops down again. This time, he’s able to pull Caceres with him. Hooper in half-guard. He briefly gets a leg up high, but Caceres pulls free and moves back to the feet. They finish there. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Caceres, 10-9, and awards him the fight 30-27.

Martin able to spin off the cage and work from the outside. Magny reverses again, and he lands a few knees inside before Martin can pull away. Punches traded on the feet, and Magny lands a nice right hand. Magny now the aggressor, and he’s staying in Martin’s face. Knee inside for Magny. He gets to the clinch, and Martin trying to battle for position, but nothing is there. Magny back to the center, and he’s using long strikes from range. Martin grabs hold when he gets close, but Magny able to pull free with relative ease. Nice low kick for Martin. Again he’s inside with two minutes left, but he can’t do anything with it. Magny pulls free and then shoots from range. Martin now defending the takedown, but he stays upright. Martin looks to slip around to the back. Martin turns inside, but he’s defending. Magny pulls away with one minute left. Magny with the long punches, and Martin is fading. Martin moves inside, but there’s no real takedown attempt. Martin pulls free and starts firing punches. Martin answers back, and he does find the mark but it’s Magny with the volume. They clinch to close. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Magny, awarding him the fight 29-28.

Round 1 – Sterling looking to pressure early. High kick misses from Sandhagen. He throws another kick, but X grabs hold an dlooks to take it to the ground. He slips around to the back and drags Sandhagen to the floor whle getting the rear-naked choke in place. It’s on the chin, but Sterling squeezes anyway. Sandhagen struggling but is able survive. Sterling still on the back. The body triangle is in place. He’s still huntin the choke. Sterling gets it under, and the choke is in deep. Sandhagen doesn’t want to tap, but this choke is firmly in place. The squeeze continues, and Sandhagen taps just as he goes out. Impressive win for Sterling.

Assuncao tries one, and Garbrandt counters over the top. Both men patient to start. Assuncao high kick blocked. Spinning kick lands for Garbrandt. Assuncao answers with one of his own. Garbrandt shoots from range but comes up short. Low kick for Garbrandt. Assuncao slips on a high kick, but Garbrandt doesn’t follow. Garbrandt with a right hand, and he slips a big left counter. Garbrandt continues to chop at the legs. Stiff right from Assuncao. Garbrandt low kick sweeps his opponent to his knees but quickly pops back up to his feet. Garbrandt leaps forward with a right, but Assuncao lands a counter, as well. Garbrandt dances at the end and drops his hands, pulling back from a high kick that misses at the bell. MMA Junkie gives the first to Garbrandt, 10-9.
Round 2 – Garbrandt with an early takedown, and he strikes on the break as Assuncao moves immediately back to his feet. Assuncao holding the center. Garbrandt rushes forward but eats a kick for the effort. Assuncao kicks to the body. Garbrandt goes to the leg. Garbrandt fires his own kick to the body. Assuncao misses a little capoeira kick. He lands a grazing right hand. Garbrandt oving on the outside, and he misses on a low kick. Assuncao high kick blocked. Not a ton of volume from either man. Garbrandt tries to move inside but is countered by a flurry. Assuncao again short on a spinning kick. He comes back and chops at the legs. Garbrandt lands a clean shot that staggers Assuncao. He pops back up, and Garbrandt lands a big kick to the body. Garbrandt with an interesting sliding kick to the legs. Leaping kick from Assuncao misses. Garbrandt measures him up and lands a huge right hand at the bell. Assuncao is out cold. Brutal.

Round 1 – Touch of gloves starts the main event. Nunes in the center of the cage, and she opens with a front kick to the body. Nunes with a stiff jab. Spencer rushes forward for a clinch. Nunes retreats and just misses on a big right before slipping away. Right hand lands for Nunes, and that clearly affected Spencer. Uppercut for Nunes, followed by a left hand. Nunes is landing early. Spencer tries to charge but eats a big right hand. Spencer finally able to get a clinch, but it’s Nunes that hip tosses her to the floor. Side control for Nunes. Spencer trying to frame from underneath. Nunes with a knee to the body. Spencer turns to her knees, but Nunes slips to the back. Spencer has to turn back to prevent the choke. Nunes controlling from the top and looks to posture with a few short elbows. Spencer doing well to tie things up underneath. Nunes with a few elbows to the body. Spencer tries to sit up, but Nunes just shoves her back to the floor. Spencer keeping the arms tied up and not taking much damage, but she’s certainly on defense. Bell sounds, and MMA Junki gives it to Nunes, 10-9.
Round 2 – Spencer moves forward for a clinch but eats a right hand. Nunes sets up in the center and throws a big left. Spencer with a Superman that misses, and she again is tagged by a right hand. Nunes standing in front of her opponent. Spencer does land a left hand, but Nunes pulls back to range. Nunes with a little smile as she looks to strike She kicks the leg. Right had lands over the top. Spencer works her way out to the center, but she quickly retreats near the fence. Right hand for Nunes. Spencer shoots inside, but Nunes stuffs it and then counters with a takedown of her own. She’s in side control. Spencer to her knees, but Nunes pushes her over and lands a few punches before backing away Spencer up to her feet. Nunes with a right hand over the top. She’s got some blood in her hairline. Nunes with a kick to the body. She kicks to the legs, as well. Crisp left hook for Nunes. Spinning backfist blocked by Spencer. She’s keeping her guard high and moving side to side. Round 3 – Spencer lands a knee inside. Nunes unfazed and again sets up right in front of her, looking to strike. Spencer briefly engages but is tagged by a right hand. Spencer changes levels but can’t inside on the takedown attempt. Left hand lands for Nunes. Another punch knocks Spencer’s mouthpiece out. Referee Herb Dean calls a quick time to replace it as Nunes was looking to swarm. Nunes rattled off heavy punches on the restart. Simple one-twos, but they’re clearly causing Spencer some issues. Spencer does sneak in a jab. Nunes grabs a quick and trips Spencer to the floor but backs away and forces her to stand. Low kicks for Nunes. She’s just picking Spencer apart. Spencer trying to move forward, but Nunes pushes her away with relative ease. Spencer dives inside, but Nunes slips away and delivers another right hand. Blood really starting to run down the left side of Spencer’s face. Seems to be coming from higher on her head. Nunes not rushing anything but clearly comfortable on the feet. Right hand lands. Round 4 – Spencer rushes forward at the start, but Nunes able to use her footwork to steer clear. Big right hand for Nunes, and Spencer staggers but moves forward. Target practice for Nunes. She kicks at the legs. Spencer tough, but she’s getting picked apart. She wants a takedown, but Nunes shoves her down and walks away. Spencer lands a jab and has a high kick blocked. Right hand for Nunes. Spencer misses on a spinning kick. Nunes just sticking with the basics, but it’s effective. Superman sneaks in for Spencer. Nunes spinning kick to the body pushes Spencer to the cage. Nunes with a single leg and Spencer goes easily to the floor. Nunes considers going to the floor but stays standing. Spencer works back to her feet. Spencer’s corner calling for aggression in her takedowns, but she simply can’t get inside. Spencer too fast and too good. Big low kick for Nunes. Two punches score. Spencer felt them. Right hands for Nunes. Spencer is hurt in the final minute.. Uppercut. Two more punches. Spencer for the takedown, but it’s not there. Round 5 – Spencer trying to rush forward, but she cna’t get inside. She pumps out a few jabs, but Nunes lands a huge left hand. Low kick for Nunes. Spencer shoots, but Nunes sprawls and controls the neck. Spencer to her knees and tries to grab a leg, but Nunes pounds her with a few hammerfists. Spencer has to turn to her back. Spencer again doing a good job of tying up the arms, preventing Nunes from doing much damage. Spencer closes the guard and is trying to isolate an arm, but Nunes clearly comfortable on top. Spencer’s face covered in blood. She’s looking for options from her back, but Nunes tags her with a few elbows. Spencer trying to get her legs high, but Nunes stands and backs away. Nunes kicks the legs a bit. She looks to back away, but Spencer but scoots forward and eventually stands. Once on the feet, referee Herb Dean calls in the doctor to check out Spencer’s cut. Spencer cleaned up and allowed to continue. Less than a minute. Nunes walking forward. She avoids a high kick. Big right hand for Nunes, and then she dives in for a takedown. Spencer battles up, but Nunes takes her down again and then stands and kicks the legs. Round ends, and it was one-way traffic.
