New Casino Coming To Pa
Earlier this month, renowned gaming and entertainment operator GVC Holdings unveiled its Sustainability Charter, and shortly after that, the company began the journey towards its implementation. Now, GVC Holdings which will soon be known as Entain is the first-ever official partner of PlayPause, a new responsible gambling tool from a non-profit known as Conscious Gaming that provides responsible gambling resources.
PlayPause was launched in September and is currently powered by GeoComply, a geolocation service provider that is widely used in the gambling industry. These partnerships are well-orchestrated which is certainly a good thing especially considering all of the concerns that have been raised about responsible gambling and gambling-related harm in regulated markets.
The developer of a new casino slated for a vacant department store at Westmoreland Mall has been awarded a gaming license by the state to go ahead with the project. Pennsylvania allows the license holders to launch multiple online casinos and Hollywood Casino was the first to do so when DraftKings Casino went live in early May 2020. Both DraftKings and Hollywood were also among the first online casinos to begin offering live dealer games in October 2020. It is estimated that a casino will increased tax revenues by $1.6m (£1.2m). It will also create non-manufacturing jobs, which is unusual for the region. The vice president of Penn National Gaming, Jeff Morris, said: “We look forward to the opportunity to bring approximately 275 new construction jobs and 250 new permanent jobs to the area.”. Caesars Online Casino Launches In Pennsylvania; WSOP PA Coming Soon? Alex Weldon Posted on Apr 23, 2020 13:40 PDT @benefactumgames Harrah’s Philadelphia on Thursday became the ninth land-based casino in Pennsylvania to offer online gambling in the state, doing so under the brand of its parent company Caesars. MACAU High rollers, luxury casinos and hotels plus a rich heritage make Macau one of the world's premiere gaming destinations. LAS VEGAS Las Vegas casino resorts have been long known for their entertaining shows, endless casino action and bright lights.
“We are delighted to be the first official partner of PlayPause. We believe the most responsible operator will be the most successful operator, and PlayPause’s innovative, multi-state approach to responsible gaming in the U.S. aligns with our firm commitment to providing our customers with the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.”
GVC CEO Shay Sevev. The new initiative will extend to all of GVC’s operations in the United States. These include the Party Casino and Partypoker brands as well as with its Roar Digital, its joint venture with MGM Resorts International. Roar Digital is popular for being the operator of BetMGM, a rapidly growing gaming brand that offers online poker, casino games, and sports betting services.
All of these gaming brands will integrate PlayPause in markets such as Pennsylvania. Unlike other self-exclusion tools currently available in the US, PlayPause takes things a step further by restricting access across every state that the operator is available. People susceptible to irresponsible gambling behavior can therefore not work around it by visiting other states.
GVC’s Plans to Turn Over a New Leaf
GVC Holding’s new Sustainability Charter is pretty extensive which is not too surprising considering the company’s new-found commitment to building a clean reputation. More proof of this lies in its plans to rebrand as it doubles down on compliance and the promotion of social security.
Some of the other things that GVC has committed to include:
- Donating £100 million over the next 5 years to support responsible gambling.
- Gradually exiting all gray or unregulated markets by 2023.
- Launching an Advanced Responsibility & Care (ARC) program.
- Rewarding executives for meeting responsible gambling goals.
As much as the growth of the gambling industry is a good thing, responsible gambling initiatives are vital for sustainability, and it is imposing to see that companies like GVC are taking it very seriously. Hopefully, this will encourage even more companies to do more in that regard.

“We’re thrilled to bring our four-diamond customer service, high quality entertainment and luxurious amenities to Beaver County and the surrounding communities, while contributing a positive lasting impact on the local economy,” said Lisa DeNaples, owner and managing trustee of Mount Airy Casino Resort in the Poconos, whose development has helped to spur more than $2 billion in economic activity in the surrounding area. “For over a decade, Mount Airy Casino Resort in the Poconos has paved the way as one of the nation’s most dynamic, upscale destination casino resorts. Our thoughtful expansion into the Pittsburgh and tri-state area represents a huge milestone in our effort to do what we live and breathe every day: provide award-winning customer service and luxury amenities to more people.”
Earlier this year, Mount Airy won one of 10 mini casino licenses up for grabs in Pennsylvania. They committed to building a casino within a 15-mile radius of New Castle, which could have meant a location in western Butler County, specifically Lancaster Township.
